Project Kalinga is LongStraw's operational biochar programme in Odisha, India, converting agricultural residue into durable carbon removal.

1. Kalinga Restoration Project

The Kalinga Restoration Project converts rice husk, an abundant agricultural residue in Odisha, into biochar through controlled pyrolysis. The biochar is then incorporated into agricultural soils, where its stable carbon is designed for long-term storage while supporting soil health and agricultural productivity.

Commercial biochar processing capacity across LongStraw's two operational facilities in Kalahandi and Sambalpur, Odisha. Feedstock sourced within 5–20 km. Project ID: Isometric 6PQZ.
